Eureka3D-XR aims to produce XR (extended reality) experiences to increase the number of 3D and XR scenarios in the data space. The project will build upon the project results of the EUreka3D project and will propose a framework based on the Eureka3D guidelines and recommendations, the EUreka3D Data Hub and a programme of capacity building initiatives focused on the creation of XR experiences.
The EUreka3D-XR framework will operate via an online toolbox targeting content providers and users. Content providers such as cultural heritage institutions will be able to use the tools to enhance their digital skills, access datasets, and transform content into XR experiences. Users, including researchers, students, tourists, creatives, and local citizens, can interact with these XR experiences.
Eureka3D-XR will develop three showcase scenarios:
A virtual visualisation of the middle-ages walls of the city of Girona
2) an XR narrative of excavations in process in the Bibracte archaeological site
3D reconstructions related to the site of Saint Neophytos which will be used for an onsite XR experience for visitors. Impact assessment and user testing will contribute to the long-term sustainability of the project.
The project is funded under Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL) of the European Union.
