About

EXCENTRIC aims to empower organisations in the European Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI) to develop, adopt and integrate collaborative

data-driven tools and practices for smart digital operations. The project addresses the underutilisation of data in the daily operations of specific experience sectors: live music, festivals, theatre and museums. These sectors are distinguished by their capacity to create value by providing audience-centric intangible cultural experiences.

EXCENTRIC develops and implements a Collaborative Data Practice through the execution of four sector-specific and two cross-sectoral pilots. By co-designing, testing and equipping organisations within experience sectors with operations-centric smart data infrastructure and tools, the project aims to support the integration of data-driven innovations in programming, pricing, resource management and audience engagement. EXCENTRIC applies human-centric principles by actively involving the creative workforce’s needs, skills, and interests of pilot organisations and their extended network in the tools’ development processes. It aims to build organisational capabilities, data literacy and skill sets to enable the adoption, diffusion and customisation of digital tools; and supports sustainable innovation beyond the project’s duration.

At the policy level, EXCENTRIC will formulate evidence-based recommendations for successful digital transformation by employing innovative practices and identifying relevant metrics based on pilot results.

The project is funded under the Horizon Europe programme of the European Union.
