The annual Europeana conference is the leading event in the world of digital cultural heritage, and this year, we are delighted to put the focus on all things tech for EuropeanaTech 2023 - Explore, Engage, Experience: cultural heritage in the data space and beyond. Led by the experts, developers and researchers from the R&D sector who make up our EuropeanaTech community, the event will explore all the new developments and technologies that will support the growth of the common European data space for cultural heritage. How - and why - should you attend?
Explore, Engage, and Experience with an inspiring programme and speakers
EuropeanaTech 2023 will take place across three days, with all three open to onsite participants in the Hague, and two open to follow online. With the focus on ‘Engage, explore and experience’ the programme will cover topics from 3D to enrichment, from natural language processing to linked data. It will explore how technology can facilitate participation with cultural heritage and build rich, interactive and immersive experiences which let people explore, engage and experience the past as never before seen possible.
Also in discussion will be active developments around machine learning and AI, and how they present new challenges - and opportunities - for the common European data space for cultural heritage. To deepen our understanding of this topic, we are delighted to announce Mia Ridge as one of our keynote speakers, who will share her perspective on these developments from the perspective of user and community-generated content. Mia is Digital Curator at the Digital Research Team The British Library, and has worked internationally as a business analyst, digital consultant and web programmer in the cultural heritage and commercial sectors.
We are also delighted that data poet Mr Gee, who offered rich perspectives on the topics in discussion at Europeana 2022, will be back to reflect with us at EuropeanaTech 2023. Explore his performances.
More speakers will be announced in the coming weeks!
