The Europeana conference is a leading event in the world of digital cultural heritage and a flagship event of the common European data space for cultural heritage. This year, we are delighted to organise it in collaboration and partnership with the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland, the National Institute of Cultural Heritage and the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw, who will host the conference.
Europeana 2025 will explore critical questions facing the digital heritage sector and society at large, and how the data space for cultural heritage can contribute to addressing them. And as a hybrid event, you can choose the level of engagement that best suits you!
Preserve, Protect and Reuse
Europeana 2025 takes place against a challenging global context. At the same time, 2025 brings change, with a new European Commission and Parliament reshaping the political landscape and offering an opportunity to revitalise the European project.
Under these circumstances, digital cultural heritage can serve as a harbour and greenhouse of values like freedom, solidarity and democracy. The common European data space for cultural heritage can support efforts to reinvigorate the European project, at a time when the EU aims to lead with value-based technology and develop alternative, publicly funded digital infrastructures that serve the common good.
In this context, protecting what makes up our ‘European way of life’ - our shared cultural heritage - and ensuring its preservation through digital technologies, gains an even greater significance. Encouraging the reuse of cultural heritage data - be it in education, enjoyment or research - reinforces its societal relevance, enhances the competitiveness of our sector and opens up innovative approaches to the wider challenges that we face.
Why you should join Europeana 2025
Discover the latest in digital cultural heritage: Join to hear the latest developments from experts, develop your capacity for working with digital cultural heritage and to shape conversations about how the common European data space for cultural heritage can contribute to our shared future.
Attend a conference developed by and designed for the sector: The majority of the conference programme will be delivered by professionals working in and around the preservation, protection and reuse cultural heritage sector. They will share expertise, knowledge and experience in varied sessions.
Network and collaborate: the conference offers participants an opportunity to network, meet and exchange with peers and like-minded professionals, supporting the development of partnerships across fields and borders.
Access the latest policy developments: With the conference organised under the patronage of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU, and hosting a dedicated Policy Forum, it offers a great opportunity to learn more about national and European strategic policy priorities, and how your work can align.
Enjoy a hybrid and interactive experience: We have designed two different experiences, so you can choose which one suits you best: online or onsite. Create your own programme and get the most out of the workshops, presentations and panel discussions for you and your organisation.
