1. It’s an opportunity to learn everything you need to know about preparing data for publication to enhance access and reuse

    Whether you already publish cultural heritage data on your own website, a national aggregator, on Europeana.eu, or would like to start doing so, the outreach event offers you the chance to learn more about the work happening behind the scenes to prepare content and metadata for publication. Don’t miss your chance to discover the technical aspects of collecting data and how you can ensure it conforms to the relevant national and international standards and to policies such as the Europeana Publishing Framework - which will help your data to become more usable and discoverable. 

    2. You’ll hear from experts in aggregation and digital cultural heritage

      At the event, you’ll hear from leaders of the three pillars of the Europeana Initiative, Marie-Véronique Leroi (Europeana Aggregators’ Forum), Sofie Taes (Europeana Network Association) and Harry Verwayen (Europeana Foundation), who offer insights into the future of the Initiative and aggregation. Next, the floor will go to experts from across the Europeana Aggregators’ Forum working firsthand with data. Hear from Henriett Hegedűs about how the national aggregator in Hungary works and how aggregators and cultural heritage institutions collaborate for data processing. She will be joined by Marco Scarbaci, Haris Georgiadis and Marcus Smith to bring this in context to approaches of other aggregators.

      3. Discover what the common European data space for cultural heritage means for data sharing

        The common European data space for cultural heritage will support Europe’s cultural sector in its digital transformation and promote the creation, use, and reuse of content. But how can institutions share their data to take advantage of this? This event will offer some ideas about how your organisation can be part of the data space.

        4. The event will highlight new workflows and tools for data processing which can support you in your daily work

          One panel at the event is dedicated to workflows and tools for data processing. Hear from Rodolphe Bailly, Tom Miles and Chiara Latronico about tools that could allow you to prepare your digital collections for publishing them online, to various platforms and websites, including Europeana.

          5. The conference is easy to join and engage with

            During the event programme there will be time to interact with the speakers and panellists and ask your questions. During a demonstration about a tool developed by the National Technical University of Athens you can also gain some practical experience. Finally, the event is online, open to all and free - so don’t miss your chance to attend!
