Over the past three years, we have funded 11 stories about under-represented communities that have been published on Europeana.eu, and our editorial grants are now back for 2025!

We invite anyone to pitch us their blog or story idea, and are providing funding for writers who could contribute blogs that put a spotlight on underrepresented communities, voices and lived experiences.

For 2025 we are adapting the Grants Programme, with a specific call to for stories about seven different European countries. We are interested in applications to write stories about Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Luxembourg and / or Malta. Few stories from these countries have been published on Europeana.eu and we're excited that the 2025 Editorial Grants Programme offers an opportunity to highlight and celebrate more of them.

We're looking for stories about these countries that may not have already been told - these could be stories about art, photography, women's history, science, migration, World War I - or something we've not thought about yet. We will fund €300 to write each story, both in English and the language of the country.

Before applying please look at what we have already published and consult our editorial guidelines. If you can't write in the language of these seven countries, please help us spread the word about the grants by sharing with your own networks. The deadline to apply is 17 October 2025 and we expect to publish the stories before the end of 2025 or early in 2026.
