Costas Papadopoulos is Associate Professor in Digital Humanities and Culture Studies at Maastricht University and has a background in digital archaeology. He coordinates The Plant: Playground and Laboratory for New Technologies. His research focuses on 3D heritage visualization, developing systems and infrastructures for digital scholarship. Costas leads projects like PURE3D, creating national infrastructure for 3D scholarship, and #dariahTeach, a platform for open educational resources. His research and pedagogic philosophy are built on the pillars of critical making and design thinking.

Driven by a commitment to advance digital heritage, I will leverage my expertise in 3D visualisation and infrastructure development. My experience in developing a Dutch 3D data space will provide insights into developing capacity and establishing standards for a FAIR and sustainable Data Space.

I will leverage my extensive network with GLAM institutions and industry to champion the Data Space, and coordinate events and projects in the Netherlands and beyond, that will support Europeana’s mission by making cultural heritage more accessible and engaging for audiences throughout Europe.
