Sofie Taes, a graduate in Musicology and Medieval and Renaissance Studies, has been working for over a decade at the Department of Cultural Studies at KU Leuven, mostly in international projects in Digital Cultural Heritage. In 2022, she became the Innovation Manager for DigitGLAM, a research valorisation consortium at the intersection of humanities and innovative technologies. Also in 2022, Sofie became the vice-chair of ENA and a member of the Expert Group of the EC dedicated to the Data Space for Cultural Heritage (CEDCHE). Sofie also works as a freelance author on classical music.
Hatathon is an annual online ideathon and educational programme digitising Ukraine's cultural heritage. In the fifth edition, the Europeana Initiative awarded a Europeana Digital Heritage Nomination to the Online Service of the Crimean Tatar Language project. Sofie Taes speaks to the winners about their work.
The DE-BIAS project is thrilled to announce the online publication of a new resource for the cultural heritage sector - a Community Engagement Methodology: Resources, Reflections, Recommendations. This guide aims to inspire community engagement practices within GLAMs (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums) across Europe.

The PAGODE project aimed to increase engagement with the Chinese heritage collections preserved in Europe, and established a dedicated section in the Europeana website to share this rich content. We look back over the last 18 months of the completed project.
