Deborah Schull

Cultural Tourism Consultant, Founder, Award-Winning Writer-Producer Cultural Roadmapp Ireland, IE Cultural Heritage

Deborah Schull is a cultural tourism consultant, writer-producer, speaker/advocate, and founder-CEO of Cultural Roadmapp, an Irish company creating GPS road trip audio guides to local culture and heritage. Her work has been recognised with over 30 professional awards and honours.

After scripting audio guides for the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, museums, and public spaces across the United States, Deborah took audio guides on the road—transforming the classic road trip into an immersive cultural adventure.

Overseeing a team of five ethnographers recording storytelling, interviews, poetry, and music along Ireland’s 2,500 km Wild Atlantic Way driving route, she then scripted an overarching narrative and produced the app ROAD TRIP: IRELAND, featuring Clare, the first audio guide in a four-part series.

Clare has since won 7 international, Irish, and American awards and honours, most recently 1st Prize in 'Coastal and Maritime Heritage for Sustainable Cultural Tourism' from the European Cultural Tourism Network in October 2024. ROAD TRIP: IRELAND is available in the App Store and Google Play.

Deborah’s mission now is to bring her brand of travel app to the Cultural Routes of Europe and tourism boards on the Continent. She’d love to speak with any and all potential collaborators.

In addition, Deborah writes tourism and cultural heritage-related content for companies and organisations. As a travel writer, she draws heavily on the authentic voices of locals and cultural experts.

Her websites are DeborahSchull.com and RoadTripIrelandApp.com.

She’s a steering group member of the Europeana Communicators Community, an associate partner in the EU-funded initiative DIBEST (Digital Innovation for Blue Enterprises and Social Tourism), a supporting partner in the SMART ERA Project initiative, and a member of RDI Hub in County Kerry, Ireland.

Deborah earned a JD from New York Law School and a BA cum laude in Comparative Literature from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, New York.

She spent 4 transformative teenage years in Dublin, Edinburgh, and London.
