Clemens Neudecker studied Philosophy, Computer Science and Political Science at LMU Munich. For more than 15 years, he has been working in R&D at various Digital Libraries, including the Bavarian State Library, National Library of the Netherlands and currently the Berlin State Library. His main interests lie in data enrichment (OCR/NLP), artificial intelligence/machine learning, and the Digital Humanities.
With lowered barriers to access and the development of new practices for Artificial Intelligence (AI), it’s no surprise that AI-related activities in the cultural heritage sector are increasing. In this post, we are delighted to introduce the winning projects from EuropeanaTech’s first Challenge for Europeana AI/ML Datasets!

This month, Clemens Neudecker discusses his role as a research advisor at the Berlin State Library and the value of being part of the Europeana Network Association.
