Europeana Academy

Europeana Academy is a training programme to build capacity in professionals working with and around cultural heritage. It aims to provide participants with a comprehensive and enriching learning experience.

Europeana Academy will be officially launched in Summer 2024, offering both self-paced courses through our Training Platform and live instructor led sessions. Read on to discover the pilot activities which are already available for registration!

Instructor-led sessions

From June 2024, we are excited to run a number of pilot training events which offer participants the opportunity to learn new skills in a hands-on and interactive environment, while also shaping and giving feedback on the training so that we can improve it further.

Below is an overview of the training topics, instructors, dates and duration of the instructor-led training sessions we are running.

Places on each session are limited and the training takes place live with an instructor on Zoom. By registering, you are committing to attend on the day. If your circumstances change and you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your registration or contact us so that your place can be taken by someone else.

When you join the live session, please ensure you are in an environment in which you can speak and interact - access to a computer screen or monitor is preferable to a mobile device.

Registration is now open for the following sessions:

Introduction to collections, audiences and stories on Europeana.eu by Beth Daley on 10 September, 10:00-13:00

How to tell great stories and write for Europeana.eu by Beth Daley on 13 September, 10:00-13:00 CEST

Preparing image collections in the IIIF standard for Europeana by Gerda Koch and Ramiro Ortiz, on 18 September, 10:00-12:00 CEST

Introduction to Europeana APIs by Maike Dulk and Jolan Wuyts on 2 October, 10:00-12:00 CEST

From September 2024, Europeana Academy will start to offer regular, instructor-led training opportunities, based on this pilot.
