17th Semantic Web in Libraries Conference
SWIB (Semantic Web in Libraries) is a community and an annual conference, this year being held for the 17th time. SWIB25 will happen online to ensure inclusion of as many participants as possible while minimizing the ecological footprint of the conference.
SWIB focuses on Linked Open Data (LOD) in libraries and related organizations. It is well established as an event where IT staff, developers, librarians, and researchers from all over the world meet and mingle and learn from each other. The topics of talks and workshops at SWIB revolve around opening data, linking data and creating tools and software for LOD production scenarios. These areas of focus are supplemented by presentations of research projects in applied sciences, industry applications, and LOD activities in other areas.
The conference language is English.

The SWIB25 conference is free of charge and the live stream will be openly available online. However, for the full conference experience join the SWIB community forum.
The purpose of the forum is to provide an exchange and networking platform for everybody interested in Linked Open Data (LOD) in libraries and related organisations.
The forum is aimed at people who
- work in libraries and related organisations,
- participate in SWIB conferences,
- are looking for an exchange of ideas,
- need or want to give advice and support on SWIB-related problems at work.
The goal is to facilitate and document the community exchange during and between SWIB conferences. We also want to create a space in which everyone, regardless of their expertise, is invited to freely ask questions about Linked Open Data (LOD) in libraries and related organizations and get the best possible help.
The forum is technically operated by the North Rhine-Westphalian Library Service Centre (hbz).
