REMIX consists of inspiring artist talks, informative workshops and a showcase. The speakers are artists and filmmakers who process heritage and archive material in their own artistic practice in their own unique way.

Working with archives

During the artist talks and workshops, you’ll dive into the archive, hunting for images, sounds and data. You’ll learn what you do with them, what you are allowed to do with them, and above all: what you want to say with them.

We’ll teach you about copyright and collection blind spots. We’ll cover the notion of ‘ownership’ when working with existing material and discuss how one can deal with over- or underrepresented voices in the archive. Because we want to know which stories you miss in the dominant societal narrative? During REMIX we’ll inspire you to get started with archival content.

Participating artists and speakers are Aimée Zito Lema, Menno Otten, Sven Peetoom & Juliette Dominicus, Anton Shebetko, Cihad Caner and Maarten Zeinstra.
