Europeana Writers’ Room - monthly creative writing workshops

Join us on the first Wednesday of each month for an hour dedicated to writing and creativity. We’ll use illustrations and imagery from the collections available on Europeana.eu to inspire you and get the words flowing. Every month will have its own theme so you’re guaranteed to uncover new stories every time.

NEXT EVENT: 3 December - explore the theme of 'climate action'.

Online

We’ll do some gentle warm-up exercises together and then some longer prompts so you can really explore your ideas. By combining practical writing exercises with a supportive writers’ circle feel, you’ll achieve great things in the session and leave with the resources and ideas to keep the stories coming.

You can write in any language. There is no obligation to share your work. No experience is required.

You can also access all the prompts and exercises, and share your writing on the Europeana Writers' Room section of the Europeana Academy (log-in required). So if you missed a workshop or want to look again, head to the Europeana Academy and explore themes of:

  • Food and fairy tale
  • Knowledge
  • Soft power
  • Cosy comfort
