Invited speakers will introduce case studies from various perspectives involving communities’ data, its preservation, presentation and handling by institutions.

Together we will reflect on questions like:

  • How can open data support the rights of minority communities?
  • Are there situations in which openness or the FAIR principles might bring prejudice to minority communities?
  • How can institutions work with communities for mutual benefit?
  • What are possible solutions to balance openness with ethical access and use of data?

The cafe will include an open discussion and Q&A with attendees.
