Archival Images of AI
This webinar, organised by the Archival Images of AI project and supported by EuropeanaTech, will investigate how we could reuse and remix digital heritage collections to craft better images of AI.
Many images that depict AI are dreadful. Visual clichés of glowing brains and anthropomorphised robots do not accurately represent AI research and the topics that many of us are invested in - the manifold impacts of AI systems on everyday lives, the hidden processes and human labour behind AI development, the material aspects of hardware powering AI systems. We need alternative visual narratives that would allow us to communicate about AI in more meaningful ways.
This webinar invites cultural and creative practitioners who are knowledgeable both about AI and creative reuse topics (how to reuse collections with care, what biases should be recognised, etc.) to join to explore these questions together.
