The ontology development incorporated existing research that had attempted to understand digital humanities projects, methods, or tools by expressing them through a series of taxonomies: analysis of these indicated an ontology, intellectually and technically, was a missing piece of the digital humanities research infrastructure.

Would you imagine that there is a connection between Europe’s digital cultural heritage library, the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and agricultural cooperatives? Probably not. Which is the beauty of the whole thing: investigating whether this rich, common European heritage source can prove of relevance and value to people and activities that one would never consider.

Two years on, this event will revisit the recommendations, look at their successes, and make new recommendations for the next phase of digital heritage in research. The event will also be the first time that representatives from all the main players in the Dutch digital humanities scene will come together to discuss digital cultural heritage in the Netherlands.
